Members of Muslim Medical Professionals in Ogun state are to carry out free medical surgeries on fifty indigent patients in Abeokuta in need of surgery-related health issues.

The health outreach programme which worth about ten million naira is being carried out by the medical professionals in conjunction with two other international non governmental bodies.

According to Dr. Saheed Sanni, the Chairman Non-Governmental arms of Muslim Medical Professionals, surgeons and other healthcare providers will carry out surgical operations simultaneously in two selected health facilities in Abeokuta.

The medical doctor said medical personnel had earlier performed surgical screening for the selected beneficiaries at designated medical centres before the free medical surgeries to be carried out this weekend.

Dr Sanni explained that the collaboration on the health outreach was aimed at addressing surgery-related health issues of indigent residents of Abeokuta.

The Free Surgery Outreach for indigent patients with minor surgical conditions that are correctable with surgical treatment on a day-case was designed to accommodate those patients that cannot afford the care due to financial challenges due to low income earnings and poor access to specialist surgeons in such field.
