Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has condemned the murder of Oba Ayinde Odetola, the traditional ruler of Agodo in Ewekoro local government area of the state.
In a statement in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun directed the security agencies to immediately fish out the killers of the monarch and three of his aides who were assassinated by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums.
While declaring that his administration would not tolerate breach of peace and harmony in the state, the Governor said his administration would deal decisively with the perpetrators of the assassination by prosecuting and meting out the full wrath of the law on them.
Governor Abiodun described the incident as unfortunate, noting that politics, land and chieftaincy matters should not attract self-help and killings.
He also warned parents and guardians to call their children and wards to order, pointing out that no plea for clemency would be tolerated for acts of brigandage, murder and illegal conducts.
While commiserating with the family of the late monarch and the residents of Agodo town, Governor Abiodun gave the assurance that the killers would not go unpunished for carrying out such heinous act.
