The Ekiti State police Command says it has deployed adequate personnel to all voting centres and other relevant places across the State ahead of Wednesday’s governorship primaries of the Peoples’ Democratic party, PDP and that of the All Progressives Congress, APC scheduled for Thursday.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Mobayo disclosed this in a statement in Ado Ekiti through the command’s spokesperson, Mr Sunday Abutu.

Mr Mobayo also confirmed the deployment of additional manpower for the primary elections from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, by the Inspector General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali Baba to complement and support the personnel on ground.

The Commissioner of Police who gave assurance of adequate security during the primaries, charged the personnel deployed for the exercise to be professional and avoid all forms of corrupt practices in the course of discharging their duties.

He however warned against electoral malpractices and violence throughout the period of the elections.

Mr Mobayo called on all stakeholders, Party Leaders and members as well as the public to maintain peace and conduct themselves in accordance with the electoral guidelines and principles.
