Former deputy governor of Osun state, Iyiola Omisore, has vowed to see the re-election bid of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the State to a logical conclusion .

Omisore made the vow in a statement  on Saturday while dissociating himself from a comment that Senator Ademola Adeleke was the best choice to clinch the party’s ticket and help defeat the ruling APC in the state.

His words: “My stand on the Osun State governorship election coming up this year is very clear as I have made it known that I am for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, and that has been my concern and I am ready to see it to a logical conclusion.

“I am used to this political terrain of blackmail and it will never work, no amount of cheap blackmail, misrepresentation of facts will distract me from losing focus in joining hands with other progressive minded people and lovers of our dear state, Osun, in ensuring the return of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, for the second term in office.”

Omisore, in the statement he personally signed, said contrary to insinuation, the statement in question never emanated from him but from Bankole Omisore, a former Special Assistant, New Media, to ex-Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

The former deputy governor stressed that it was unfortunate that some people who were bent on playing politics on anything on sight could be attributing a remark posted on another person’s official Twitter page to him.

“It is surprising that some elements are always out to be mischievous of any available issue just to score cheap political point. How can a post by Bankole Omisore on his Twitter page be attributed to me. This is another blackmail taken too far. The truth of it is that the statement is not from me and should not be ascribed to me,” he said.
