The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Ekiti state says voter’s cards of those who registered during the recently concluded Continuous Voters’ Registration are ready for collection at various locations in the state.

Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Adeniran Tella announced this while flagging off the distribution of the voter’s cards at Ado Ekiti Local Government office of the commission.

Dr. Tella explained that the commission had received one hundred and three thousand, six hundred and nineteen voter’s cards which would be available for collection at various Registration Area Centres for the next five days after which unclaimed cards would be taken to INEC Local Government Offices.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner urged the people of the State to take advantage of the period to collect their cards in order to participate in the coming elections, adding that some of them would not be able to obtain their PVCs due to double and incomplete registration.

In a remark, the Chairman, Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Ekiti state, Professor Caleb Oluwadare commended the commission for its efforts at ensuring improved participation of people in elections.

After the flag off of the distribution of the voter cards, staff of INEC, led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Adeniran Tella embarked on road show to Fajuyi park to sensitize members of the public on the need for them to collect their voter cards.
