The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has officially directed all Resident Electoral Commissioners across the country to carry on with the Continuous Voter Registration Exercise, CVR.
In a letter issued on Thursday by the Office of the Secretary, INEC Headquarters, Abuja, and made available to Radio Nigeria in Ilorin, the Resident Electoral Commissioners were directed to continue with the exercise until further decision is communicated to them.
The letter was signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Onaran-Anthony.
The decision to carry on with the voter registration exercise came after public outcry and court ruling that the CVR should not end yet.
According to the election time-table earlier released by INEC, the Continuous Voter Registration exercise was scheduled to end Thursday thirtieth of June, 2022.
