As part of efforts to promote learning,  some senior students of Renascent High School  Aremo Ibadan have toured the facility of Radio Nigeria Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe,  Ibadan to expose them to the broadcasting and journalism profession.

The pupils who wore smiling faces after the tour said they were warmly welcomed by the members of staff of Radio Nigeria.

The students listed some of the things they saw during the visit including the Reporter’s corp, control room, live studio, and Editorial unit.

They also had interactions with On-Air Personality Peace Ode who took them through some of his duties and a studio Manager, Johnson Orunmuyiwa who recorded them as they sang the school anthem and later allowed them to listen to it.

Assistant Director News, Mrs Morenike Tony Esan told them what a reporter does while Kayode Banjo explained to them the duties of an editor.

The students also visited the library where they were exposed to the different materials used in the line of production  and the archived materials like the reel to reel tape, records, cassettes, CDs and books.

Their coordinator Mr Yemi Bawahala said exposure to practical learning was the best way students can grab what was being taught in  the classrooms

‘ Under one of the topics in  English Language is broadcasting, bringing them here was an opportunity for them to see in reality what they have been taught theoretically “

All in all, the students and teachers who had an exciting time at the  Broadcasting House appreciated the management of Radio Nigeria for the opportunity.

Renascent High school which was established in the year 1964  has its motto as “Multum non-multa”. Anthonia Akanji
