Nigerian pilgrims to this year’s Hajj at their different tents on a state and group basis involved in extensive prayers at the plain of mount Arafah after the combination of both Jumat and Asr prayers.

The pilgrims were relocated early this morning to Arafah from Muna where they passed the night.

The Arafah program in different tents included lectures, recitation of Quran, supplications to Allah, and prayers for individuals, families, relatives, and Nigeria. 

At one of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON tents, a member of Ulamah Team, Imam Tajudeen Oyebanji said the best prayer is the one done on the day of Arafah while the best of the best is the one done on the plain of Arafah.

He congratulated the pilgrims for the privilege of the Arafah that fell on Friday noting that such would earn them tremendous rewards.

Imam Oyebanji urged the pilgrims to avoid frivolities and ensure they follow laid down rules governing the Hajj rites in order to perform a perfect Hajj exercise. 

“You have to renew your intention and note that the reward for a perfect Hajj is paradise. Don’t remove your white garments until the last day of the hajj exercise, which is Tuesday, 12th July.”

In a sermon of Jumat service by Alhaji Abubakar Barde- Badamosi from NAHCON, Yola office, he urged Muslims to embrace good habits and avoid acts such as backbiting, envy, and the spirit of bringing others down.

He called for unity among Muslims stressing that the believers are one irrespective of colour, race, or tribe, and emphasized the equality of all men in the sight of Allah.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent Ridwan Fasasi reports that all the pilgrims will depart Arafah later today to continue the Hajj rite at Muzdalifa,  where they will pass the night.
