9 Brigade of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army has emerged the winner of the 2022 Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition with three hundred points.

The four-day competition, which took place at 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State, had the host Brigade emerging as the first runners-up with two hundred points.

81 Division Garrison emerged second runners up on one hundred and seventy points, while 45 Engineering Brigade emerged third runners with one hundred and forty points.

Declaring the competition closed, the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division of Nigeria Army, Brigadier-General Obinna Ajunwa said the competition was crucial for the promotion of emotional stability, self-discipline and self-realization in individual officers.

He noted that the attributes were important to every soldier for the enhancement of the soldier’s ability to discharge their duties.

Dapo. Oloyede, said, the Combat Proficiency Competition was organized with the aim of improving combat readiness, leadership trait, and organizational ability and inculcating initiatives in the stipulated rank bracket of officers.

He hinted that those that performed well in the competition would be privileged to represent the Division at Nigerian Army-level organized competitions and urged them to maintain and improve their physical fitness at all times.
