Ninety-Six students will bag various classes of degrees at the maiden convocation ceremony of the Precious Cornerstone University, PCU, Ibadan.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Julius Oloke made this known during a news conference at the institution’s campus in Ibadan.

Professor Oloke noted that the institution which started with twelve courses four years ago could now boast of seventeen courses with others at advanced stages of accreditation.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the weeklong programme to include, a Thanksgiving service at the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, sited at the campus premises, a Convocation Lecture, Vice Chancellor dinner with graduates, novelty football match between staff and students.

Professor Oloke noted that other programmes scheduled for the celebrations are the investiture of Bishop Wale Oke, the president of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, as Chancellor, conferment of honorary degrees and award of first degrees and prizes.

The Vice-Chancellor maintained that graduating students of the institution who had been exceptionally tutored morally and academically could compete favourably with their counterparts locally and internationally.

Professor Oloke noted that some landmark achievements of the institution were successfully conducting the animal trials of the Covid-19 Vaccine, while also successfully producing vaccines for other diseases such as Lassa fever, monkeypox and cholera.
