The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investments, Chief Adeniyi Adebayo has expressed optimism that the National Special Agro Industrial Processing Zone Programme will help to lift 24 million Nigerians out of poverty. 

Chief Adebayo stated this at the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of Ogun Special Agro Industrial Processing Zone at Ilisan Remo. 

The Minister said Agro Industrialisation was key in the efforts to improve food security in the country, pointing out that the planned Ogun International Cargo Airport would create employment and boost economic development, not only in the State, but across the entire Southwest region.

Chief Adebayo gave the assurance that the federal government had designed public and private development modules towards achieving the desired transformation agenda of the president Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Also, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who explained that the project was being implemented in partnership with a foreign firm, announced that more than 20, 000 jobs would be created through the efforts. 

He also promised that his administration would continue to implement people – oriented policies and programmes to further move the state to greater heights.
