Traders and shop owners who were victims of the last week Thursday evening fuel tanker fire incident at the Apata axis of Ibadan have appealed to the government for a special loan to enable them to restart their lives.

They made the appeal during Radio Nigeria’s assessment visit to the area.

Our Correspondent, Dayo Adu, reports that the sharing formula for the 10 million naira palliative donation by Governor Seyi Makinde during his visit to the victims on Tuesday to gladden them for the yuletide season generated ripples between the affected traders and the landlords.

They later came to a compromise as the traders later smiled away with cash ranging from twenty thousand to one hundred thousand naira per person.

Some of the victims who lauded the governor’s gesture in relieving their grief appealed to both federal and state governments to assist them with loans to enable them to bounce back from the loss.

Radio Nigeria’s inventory on the effect of the incident revealed that 71 traders, 20 units of shops, a public water tank and two transformers were affected by the fire.
