The Ogun State Government has signified her intention through the Ministry of Transportation and its agencies to collaborate with the Federal Government, Lagos State Government and other relevant stakeholders to ease traffic jam and other incumberances along the Kara, Berger-Opic corridor of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In a statement by the state commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, The state government gave this assurance at the end of a technical session with all stakeholders directly connected and related to the decongestion of traffic build-up along the boundaries between Lagos and Ogun State, from Secretariat to Otedola Bridge, Berger and Opic, in view of the review of the traffic management plan, occasioned by the low pace movement of traffic along the route.

Consequently, the Ogun state government, through the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, and the Vehicle Inspection Office, VIO, would synergize with the Federal Road Safe Corps, FRSC and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, along the Kara, Berger-OPIC corridor to guarantee effective traffic management, as the last phase of the ongoing reconstruction work by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing reaches its crescendo, in order to mitigate the inconveniences experienced by motorists.

The general public, particularly the motoring public were admonished to cooperate with all stationed traffic control personnel along the routes, by adhering to traffic rules and regulations to ensure free flow of traffic along the corridor.
