Osun State Security Network and Amotekun Corps has confirmed the release of one Muhammed Jubril who was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen at Ago-Igbira, a Fulani Settlement in Ila-Orangun, Ila local Government Area of Osun State.

The victim was rescued on Monday after a lot of pressure mounted  on the suspected  kidnappers by operatives of Amotekun.

Recalled that operatives of Amotekun were on a search of a kidnapped victim Muhammed Jubril in Ago-Igbira, a Fulani settlement of Ila-Orangun of Osun State that was kidnapped at about 1:40 am on Wednesday, 12th April 2023 by unknown gunmen.

The operatives swung into action immediately after a distress call was placed to the corps, Ila command office by the Seriki Fulani of Ago Igbira settlement that some suspected kidnappers have invaded their community and whisked away Jubril.

The Amotekun Field Commander, Mr Olusoji Akanni told Radio Nigeria that he mobilized his men and started combing  the forest all night till they got to Ago Inisha, Arandun, and Igbo Orile in Kwara State.

Confirming the development, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Retired Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said that the kidnapped victim, Muhammed Jubril had been released by  his abductors after intensive efforts and pressure mounted on the hoodlums

 “Our operatives were closing in on them and as a result they released the victim with no ransom paid,” Adewinmbi said. 

He also that efforts were still on to arrest the kidnappers
