An Islamic scholar, in the Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulRazaq Alaro has called on Nigerians to trust their leadership irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.

Professor Alaro made the call while delivering Ramadan Lecture at the Special Iftar with the theme “Trust, an Indispensable Tool for National Development” held at the Arcade Ground Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 

While pointing out that no nation could develop if there was no trust between the people and the government, Professor Alaro, urged the federal government to invest in social capital.

The Islamic scholar, who explained that social cohesion was necessary for the country to prosper economically, urged Nigerians and the government to work together for the development of the country.

In a remark, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said his administration would continue to sustain the trust of the people of the state, emphasizing that sustaining public trust remained fundamental to the economic development of the state.

Governor Abiodun who urged the people of the state to trust the decision of his administration also called on them to always report crimes and criminals in their neighborhood.
