Twenty-first century unionism has been described as more of intellectual engagement with management and other stakeholders towards moving organizations forward, rather than the confrontational style.

This was the submission of the General Manager, Premier FM, Mr. Adedamola Tinubu while receiving the executive of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, FRCN Chapel who were on an assessment tour of the station.

Mr. Tinubu while emphasizing the need for a clear departure from the way unionism was being practised, challenged the newly sworn-in executive to prioritize training and re-training of members and also use their position positively.

In his remarks, the Chairman, NUJ, FRCN Ibadan Chapel, Mr. Oluwakayode Banjo noted that the union was not unaware of the challenges confronting the station at the moment and the expectations of management from staff in the present circumstance.

Mr. Banjo opined that it was important for all stakeholders in the broadcast chain to play their part effectively as this would guarantee an enabling environment for workers thereby improving productivity.

The NUJ FRCN Chapel had earlier visited Amuludun FM on an assessment tour of the station.
