Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has flagged off the dualization of 8.3km Akobo, Ojurin/Odogbo Barracks Olounda Abaa Junction at the sum of 9.6 billion naira.

Flagging- off the project, Governor Makinde explained that 30 percent of the total cost has already been paid to the contractor handling the project.
He said the dualization of the road would improve the socioeconomic activities of the Lagelu Local Government and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
The governor who explained that the road project would affect some properties in the area however pledged prompt compensation to the affected property owners
Governor Makinde noted that the local government would be responsible for the funding but at the standard of the state promised the readiness of his administration doubles its efforts to support Local Government on more dividends of democracy under Omititun 2.0.
In a remark, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Mr Kazeem Gbadamosi stated that the road construction would ease the movement of goods and services and end the age-long hardship being experienced by residents of the area.
The technical officer of the contractor handling the project, Hyginus Okoro assured of a quality job and traffic management pending the completion of the road project.
The road would be completed within twelve months.
