Officers and men of the Nigeria Army, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta have carried out sanitation of markets and roadsides at Rounder area, one of the host communities of the barrack.

The exercises was part of the brigade’s 2023 Nigeria Army Day Celebration.

The sanitation exercise enabled the officers and men to sweep the market and carried out road maintenance of bad portions of the major highway at Rounder area.

The soldiers had commenced the market cleaning at six thirty in the morning before the arrival of the market men and women.

The Garrison commander 35 Artillery Brigade Colonel Legborsi Nule who represented the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Aminu while speaking on the significance of the exercise said the cleaning was to strengthen the civil-military relationship.

He stated that the Nigerian Army would continue to work to achieve a peaceful society.

The soldiers were joined at the sanitation exercise by Corp members serving at the barrack.

Some residents of the area including Mr. David Ajayi and Mrs. Nimatallah Ayinde while speaking with Radio Nigeria commended the Nigeria Army for the gesture. 

The duo called for more enlightenment on the operations of the Nigerian Army to reduce friction between the civil populace and the soldiers.
