Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has promised residents of immediate rehabilitation of all potholes on most roads in the State to improve vehicle movement and prevent road crashes
He gave the assurance during an assessment visit to the State road maintenance agency (OYSROMA), Ibadan.
The governor explained that the recent downpour has increased the emergence of potholes on various roads hence the need to be proactive.
Governor Makinde who expressed his commitment to giving adequate attention to rehabilitating inner city roads and other trunk C roads said most potholes on various roads would disappear in line with his government’s policy on zero tolerance to potholes in a couple of weeks
Governor Makinde who warned the people to desist from dumping refuse in waterways and drainages, disclosed that he would work out modalities with the state Accountant General to release funds to the OYSOMA for the benefit of the people.
The Governor who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi , senior management staff of OYROMA, inspected some of the agency’s facilities and technical workshops.
