Former Head of Service, HOS, in Oyo State, Dr Ebenezer Okebukola wants government at all levels to ensure provision of adequate road signs on the nation’s roads to enhance security and prevent accidents. 

Dr Okebukola who is also the former state coordinator Special Marshal stated this while delivering a lecture entitled: OYRTMA Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, at the 14th year Founder’s Day celebration of the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority, OYRTMA held at its headquarters, Secretariat, Ibadan. 

He lamented that road signs have disappeared on most of the country’s roads especially kilometer or milepost strategic for security while location identification are no more in existence. 

Dr Okebukola while commending the Oyo State government for opening intercity roads such as Moniya-Ijaye-Iseyin, called on OYRTMA to partner FRSC to monitor excessive speeding on these roads to reduce fatalities. 

He equally stressed the need for Oyo State government to inject more personnel into the agency to effectively carry out traffic management across the state. 

Earlier, the General Manager of OYRTMA, Mr Adeoye Ayoade explained that the agency has intensified activities in order not to deviate from its mandate. 

Mr Adeoye assured residents of Oyo State of OYRTMA’s renewed commitment towards ensuring effective traffic management in the state. 

Oyo State pioneer Secretary of OYRTMA, Mr Aiki Tunde admonished men of OYRTMA to respect the roads users and perform their duties in accordance with the extant laws.
