The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has again reiterated his commitment to uphold fairness and equity among all religious bodies in order to promote peaceful co-existence, tranquility and harmony in the State.
The Governor stated this while receiving the Traditional Religious Worshippers Association, Osun State Chapter during a courtesy visit at his office, State Secretariat, Osogbo.
He noted that he has been fulfilling his promise by declaring public holidays for celebration of “Isese Day” as it is been done for the other two religions in the State.
While emphasizing that his administration recognizes the importance of engaging with traditional institutions, leveraging on their beliefs and practices to address the challenges facing the communities, Governor Adeleke said his government was committed to continually support initiatives that promote cultural heritage and development.
The Governor urged them to continue to promote the values of tolerance, respect and peaceful co-existence and work together to build a brighter future for their children and generations to come.
Earlier, the President, Traditional Religion Worshippers Association, TRAWSO, Dr. Oluseyi Atanda appreciated God for giving the Governor the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state, saying that, within two years of his administration, Governor Adeleke has taken the state to an enviable height.
Dr. Atanda urged government to key into the resuscitation and development of all tourists sites in Osun, saying those sites can generate fifty percent of the internally generated revenue of the State.
