As part of activities to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day, Radio Nigeria Premier FM Ibadan is organizing a 5 kilometers marathon on Saturday.

According to a statement by the General Manager, Premier FM Ibadan, Mr Adedamola Tinubu, the marathon tagged “kiddies marathon 2023”, will be the first of its kind.

The statement notes that participants have been drawn from selected schools in Ibadan, adding that the exercise will commence at seven o’clock in the morning.

The statement further indicates that the race will commence at Akinyemi roundabout, Ring Road and terminate at Premier FM Ibadan office, Iyaganku Ibadan.

It adds that security and medical personnel will be on the ground to ensure safety throughout the exercise.

A traditional ruler, Olufon of Ifon Osun, Oba Moruf Magbagbeola wants government to harness the nation’s cultural potential for wealth and employment generation.

Oba Magbagbeola stated this while speaking on the significance of annual Odun Ade festival in the ancient community.

The monarch emphasised the need to preservation of culture and tradition, saying culture was symbol of identity hence the need to protect it from going into extinction.

Oba Magbagbeola said Odun Ade was significant to historical evolution of the community noted that the celebration symbolizes the position of Ifon-Osun in Yoruba history.

Meanwhile, the monarch who had earlier played host to the management of Gold FM urged the station to always design programmes that would showcase the beautiful of Yoruba culture and traditions.

Oba Magbagbeola who commended Gold FM for it ingenuity and commitment to professionalism promised continued support for the media organization.

In a remark, the General Manager, Gold FM, Ilesa, Mr Damola Tinubu assured the monarch that the station would continue to give priority to promotion of culture and traditions.

Mr Tinubu noted that Radio Nigeria would continue to sustain its leading role in broadcasting industry through promotion of professionalism.

The General Manager, Gold FM, Ilesa, Mr Adedamola Tinubu says broadcasting industry is key to socioeconomic and political development of the nation.

Mr Tinubu stated this in Osogbo when he paid a visit to the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Rave FM, Mr Femi Adefila in his office.

The General Manager who noted radio stations in the state should not see themselves as competitors but partners for the good of the society.

He lauded Rave FM for the promotion of professionalism and urged the station to sustain the tempo.

In a remark, the CEO of Rave FM, Mr Femi Adefila who said Radio Nigeria remained the flagship of broadcasting in Nigeria extolled the virtues of the station in the area of training and retraining of its workforce.

Mr Adefila however called for a synergy between radio stations in the state for collective bargaining and promotion of common interest.

The Owa Obokun of Ijesa Land, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has described Radio Nigeria’s Gold FM as an apolitical media outfit that God has planted in Ijesaland to promote culture, unity and development.

Oba Adekunle Aromolaran stated this when the management of the station led by the new General Manager, Mr Adedamola Tinubu paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
