The Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke has warned that any Coordinating Directors who accept a permanent Secretary appointment from outgoing Governor Gboyega Oyetola will exit the service from November 28th.

In a statement by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor-elect affirmed that taking such appointments at the last minute without due process indicated the readiness of those directors to exit the state service.

Senator Adeleke said the new permanent secretaries will be treated as political appointees who will automatically follow the outgoing Governor out of public service from November 28.

He advised that those who still want to remain in service of the Osun state government should decline the appointment from the outgoing Governor adding that, no waiver will be entertained in sacking from office any kangaroo permanent secretary.

Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola says the cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislature Arm of Government had led to the remarkable success of his Administration. 

Mr Oyetola stated this during the 50th Birthday Celebration of the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Oladiji Owoeye held at the legislative quarters in Osogbo the State capital. 

The Governor described the celebrant as a very dedicated and loyal personality to the Government and the All Progressive Congress, APC, Party. 

Also contributing, the State Chairman of the APC, Prince Adegboyega Famoodun said the Speaker was a politician of repute whose sojourn in the parliament had been successful. 

In a remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Oluomo Sunday Akere said Mr Owoeye had contributed immensely to the development of the State through quality leadership of the parliament. 

The Chaplin of the state House of Assembly Chapel, Mr Muyiwa Ayeni and Imam of the Assembly Mosque, Alhaji Abdufatai Adebisi offered prayers for the celebrant, Family members, participants, the State and Nation as a whole.

Highlights of the event include prayers for the celebrant, group photographs, cutting of birthday cake, praise and worship.

Osun state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has congratulated Hajj pilgrims from the State on the successful completion of this year’s Hajj exercise.

This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ismail Omipidan.

Governnor Oyetola who welcomed the pilgrims back to the country from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commended them for exhibiting the Omoluabi virtues as reflected in their conducts throughout the period of the Hajj exercise.

He also thanked God for granting all the pilgrims from the State a successful Hajj exercise and safe return to the country.

The Osun Governor equally extolled the management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for their efforts at ensuing that the pilgrims had a hitch-free Hajj exercise.

Governor Oyetola noted that the successful return of the last batch of 155 pilgrims to Nigeria is a testament to his administration’s commitment to the general welfare and well-being of all and sundry.

He therefore implored all the pilgrims to continue to adhere strictly to the teachings and lessons of Hajj while asking Allah to reward them abundantly.

Osun state government says it has concluded plans for rehabilitation of Olomo, Igangan, Eti Oni, Alarere Reserved roads .

The State governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola made this known in Iperindo and Osu while meeting traditional rulers in Atakumosa East and Atakumosa west local governments on his quest to return to office of the governor for another four year term.

The governor informed that the incessant rain being witnessed would not favour such road rehabilitation now hence the need to wait till after election when precipitation would have declined.

He appreciated the efficacy of prayer he got from the traditional rulers in the build up to APC Governorship primary election in February saying this made him to come to them for prayer again as the July 16 governor election involves APC and other political parties.

The royal fathers expressed joy with governnor Oyetola’s achievements in office just as they offered prayers to God to grant his wish in the governnoship election.

Addressing party members and supporters who gathered at community grammar school, Iperindo and Osu, the governnor informed that four year term was not enough for infrastructural developmental plan he had for the state.

In their words political stalwarts including Chairman, Osun APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun and Former federal parliamentarian, Mr Ajibola Famurewa said Governor Oyetola was seeking re-election not due to coverteousness but passion to bring more development to the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that party supporters who appeared in branded attires defiled the rain and trooped out in thousands to receive the governor and his team.

Political leaders in the Southwest will spare no effort towards strengthening the security architecture in the region to prevent further attacks on the people.

Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, stated this Sunday when he paid a condolence visit to his Ondo State counterpart, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, at the Government House, Akure, over last Sunday’s terrorist attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, in Ondo State.

Governor Oyetola said the visit was in the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood as he described the incident as cruel, barbaric and heinous.

He said the attack was a reminder for the leaders to refocus the security direction to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the region.

Responding, Governor Akeredolu appreciated Governor Oyetola for deeming it fit to visit him after he had made several calls to condole the State over the ugly incident.

Governor Akeredolu admitted that the present happenings called for new strategies and approaches, saying the idea of state police should be pursued for effective policing.

Recall that yet-to-be-identified gun-men had last week Sunday unleashed terror on the innocent citizens and worshipers at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo leaving many dead and others injured.

Osun State Governor Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has promised to look into the reconstruction of Otan -Iresi road.

Governor Oyetola made the promise when his campaign train moved to Boluwaduro Local Government to seek re-election as the governor of Osun State for another 4-year term.

The first point of call at the Local Government was the palace of Owa Otan of Otan Ayegbaju, Oba Lukmon Fadipe where royal fathers in the Local Government converge to welcome the governor and offered royal blessing for his second term ambition.

Addressing thousands of party supporters and people of the council, Governor Oyetola advised them against mortgaging the future of their children adding that the business of governance is so important than to be left in the hands of just anybody.

 He condemned the attack on his campaign team and members of the party by some hoodlums at the end of the party’s rally in Gbogan on Monday calling on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against being used as tools for political violence.

The governor however appealed to party members and supporters to remain calm even in the face of slightest provocation.

Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has flagged off for rehabilitation, the Osogbo, Okini, Ilobu and Erinle road.
Performing the ceremony on the Ilobu stretch of the road, Governor Oyetola said the rehabilitation project was in response to the yearning of the people.
The Governor explained that the road which would cost the state government over three billion naira would be completed in twelve months.
He urged residents of the area to give the contractor necessary support, as he cautioned against imposition of any illegal fees and charges on those working on the site.
Earlier, the Osun State Commissioner for works, Housing and Transport, Mr Remi Omowaye explained that the road was a Federal Government road, awarded about thirteen years ago, but nothing was done on it.
Mr Omowaye stressed that going by the importance of the road to the economy of the state, the Governor had to enter an agreement with the Federal Government to take over the rehabilitation of the road.
In a remark, one of the residents of the community and former Secretary to Osun State government, Chief Sola Akinwumi described the intervention of Osun State to take over the road as a gesture the people would forever be grateful for.
Similarly, the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Dr Ajibola Basiru said people were not concerned about classification of roads as Federal or state but the good condition of the roads.

The leadership and members of Hunters Group of Nigeria has declared their unalloyed support for Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

The Commander General, Hunters Group, Joshua Osatimehin, this after the  inauguration of  the State Chapter of Hunters Group of Nigeria HGN by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Mr Osatimeyin charged the hunters  to show patriotism, integrity, diligence, loyalty and honesty in the discharge of their duties.

Inaugurating the Group, Osun State  Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola emphasized the need for the hunters to work with other security outfits to complement the efforts of other security agencies in the state.

Governor Oyetola who described security and welfare as the paramount, said government would leave no stone unturned in the task of improving security of the citizenry.

He  noted that, security was critical to the Development Agenda of his administration as it holds the Master Key to the delivery of adequate, equitable, and qualitative service in all sectors.

In a remark, the State Commander Hunters Group of Nigeria, Chief Balogun Nureni Hammed, reaffirmed the commitment of his members to collaborating with other security agencies to protect the lives and property of the citizens.

The Osun State Chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for pardoning 962 workers in the State, who were demoted for committing administrative infractions, including engaging in further studies without following due process.
The State Chairman of TUC, Comrade Adebowale Adekola, gave the commendation while reacting to a circular issued by the Office of the State’s Head of Service on Monday, directing all account officers in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) where the affected workers are posted to ensure the implementation of the governor’s directive.
Oyetola had during a meeting with a labour group in January ordered the reversal of the demotion of all the affected staff totaling 962, urging them not to commit such infractions again and to also show more commitment in their service to the State.
“On the issue of demotion of some workers, we have forgiven those demoted for embarking on further studies without approval. Their cases will be reviewed and their demotion will be reversed as appropriate,” the governor had said.
