Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has raised alarm over the increasing number of illegal immigrants flooding into the country through the land borders.

He made this known while receiving the Assistant Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Zone F, who is in charge of Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States, Dora Amahian in his office in Akure.

Governor Akeredolu observed that Nigeria would continue to be at loss going by the series of criminalities being perpetrated by the illegal immigrants in the country.

Governor Akeredolu who recommended urgent collaboration among the security agencies pledged the Ondo State’s continual support to tackle the menace of illegal foreigners turning themselves to permanent residents in the country.

Describing security as the responsibility of all, Assistant Comptroller General Dora Amahian said the service had a border corps on ground to arrest the illegal immigrants aside the ongoing e-registration of the foreigners.
