Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Shina Olukolu has called on all stakeholders in the lingering Local Government chairmanship tussle in the State to obey the law and shun illegal acts.
This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Oyo state, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi.
The statement notes that unleashing chaos, bloodshed, lawlessness, and destruction of properties or inflicting injuries on one another will serve no purpose, but be an obstacle to peace of the society.
It advises stakeholders to sheath their swords and give peace a chance.
The statement warns all and sundry that the police will not stand by or fold its arms and watch any group or individuals cause chaos, lawlessness, and destruction as it will deal decisively with those found wanting.
It reiterates its belief in the capacity, ability and exemplary leadership qualities of Oyo State residents to find a solution to their common differences.
The statement enjoins law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear, threat or intimidation from any group or individuals as the police are on ground to ensure the safety of lives and property.
