Oranmiyan of Oko land, Oba Solomon Akinola has expressed delight on the performance of Radio Nigeria , Ogo-ilu FM Oko in the area of information dissemination.

He made the remark while receiving the Zonal Director FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs.Bolatito Joseph in his palace.

The monarch, who noted that Ogo-ilu had been up and doing in the area of information management noted that the station had contributed positively to the development of the society.

On her part, the Zonal Director, Mrs Joseph said management of the broadcast medium visited to appreciate the palace and the entire town for the usual warm gesture demonstrated to the station.

Mrs Joseph gave assurance that the station would continue to uphold its mandate to uplift the people and unite the nation.

It was a welcome home situation as members of staff Ogo-Ilu FM received the Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph amidst pomp and pageantry .

The Zonal Director since assumption office has been on facility inspection tour to all stations under Ibadan zone.

The reception at Ogo-Ilu was exemplary as local drummers from the locality welcomed the zd with their percussion.

The zd who came in the company of Deputy director Engineering services, Mr Gabriel Ajayi and Assistant director, administrative department, Reverend Adebayo Esho commended the staffers of Ogo-Ilu for keeping the flag of FRCN flying.

Mrs Joseph while emphasising on increased Internally Generated Revenue said it was necessary for all staffers to work together as a team to achieve a common goal.

The zd also harped on the need of all staffers to comport themselves and unite as a family.

“I want all of you to work together, an injury to one is an injury to all” She said

Welcoming the Zonal Director, Head of station, Ogo-Ilu FM Oko, Mr.Segun Akanmu appreciated the Zonal Director for finding time to visit the station.

Mr Akanmu pledged to put all internal mechanisms in place to ensure more productivity.

The Zonal Director who also paid a courtesy call on the palace of the late Soun of Ogbomoso said the essence of the visit was to solidarize with the entire Ogbomoso land over the transition of the revered monarch.

The zd said Frcn also sympathised with Ogbomoso over the demise of Professor Taibat, daughter of the late monarch.

Responding on behalf of the Palace, Are ago of Ogbomoso land, High chief Samuel Otolorin appreciated Frcn for the visit.

High chief Otolorin noted that Ogo-Ilu had been the game changer in the broadcasting circle in Ogbomoso zone with it’s quality news items being broadcast to the public.

Management of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, has expressed satisfaction on the overall performance of Ogo-Ilu 89.3 Fm,Oko.

The zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan zonal station, Pastor Bolanle Owoyemi made the submission, during a visit to Ogo-Ilu in Oko.

Pastor Owoyemi explained that rich content of the station testified to the dutifulness of the staffers.

While commending the staffers for maintaining the standard of FRCN by setting pace in the media industry, the zonal Director charged them to always strive to do more.

“My coming is to say thank you to you for your hard work, commitment, dedication and determination to uphold this station despite the challenges.

I appreciate the content you are dishing out, I listen to the station and I know the society has accepted you.

What you’re dishing out makes you very relevant, so they see you as a factor to reckon with in the environment” She said.

The Zonal Director who was in the company of Assistant Director Engineering, Mrs Ibiyemi Obadina and Assistant Director Administration department, Dr. Adenike Aremu inspected the station’s facilities including the commercial office in Ogbomoso.

The need for broadcasters to be ahead of others in information gathering and dissemination has again been stressed.

Deputy Director News and current affairs, FRCN Ibadan, Elder Adenrele Ajisefini made the position during a training session organized for members of staff of Radio Nigeria Ogo-Ilu FM, Oko.

The Theme is Right Approach to Translation and Editing in A Competitive Broadcast Environment.

Among issues discussed were common errors in broadcasting, translation, discipline and revenue generation.

Hitting the nail on the head, Elder Ajisefini said it was important for editors and translators to embrace the right approach in their broadcast endeavors.

He noted that qualities of translators and editors should include good knowledge of English language and host environment.

Elder Adenrele also stressed the importance of research to the modern day broadcasting

Elder Adenrele also added that for effeciency, there was the need for the news and programs to synergize for a common goal.

Earlier, head of station, Radio Nigeria Ogo ilu, Mr Segun Akanmu had expressed gratitude to the management of FRCN for facilitating such a workshop.

Some of the participants who cut across FRCN staffers, artistes, volunteers, Students on internship and other freelance broadcasters described the workshop as an eye opener.

The participants promised to reflect all the lessons learnt in the broadcasting profession.
