Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has reiterated her commitment to the prevention and reduction of infant and maternal mortality to the barest minimum in the state.

Mrs Makinde made the pledge while distributing gift items to the first, second and third new-year babies for 2021.

Mrs Makinde who was represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Professor Bolanle Olaniyan noted that children are God’s heritage hence the need to protect them.

Welcoming the New Year babies delivered to Mrs Zainab Imrah at Adeoyo Hospital, Yemisi Obi at Jericho Nursing Home, and Kehinde Oyewumi also at the Adeoyo Hospital, the governor’s wife implored the mothers to take proper care of them.

The beneficiaries thanked Mrs Makinde for the gifts.

The head of Jericho Nursing Home, Dr Olasunkanmi Adebisi appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for his efforts and advised expectant mothers to take good care of themselves.
