The National Identification Management Commission, NIMC, wants Nigerians to take advantage of the continuous registration exercise to put their data in the national database.
Osun State coordinator of the commission, Doctor Omolara Idah made the call in a chat with Radio Nigeria in Ilesa, Osun State.
Doctor Idah explained that the registration would generate the right population figure for national planning, implementation of people-oriented projects and issuance of multi-purpose identity cards.
On the new regulation of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to its candidates to register for National Identification Number, NIN, she expressed optimism that the directive would address impersonation and examination malpractices.
The NIMC state coordinator pleaded with those who have not been presented with their identity cards after registration to exercise patience, while Nigerians who were yet to register to visit the nearest registration centre for the exercise.
