The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, OSHA, Mr. Timothy Owoeye says the Assembly would meet with its Oyo counterpart to resolve the crisis of ownership rocking the jointly-owned Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso and its teaching hospital.

Mr. Owoeye who stated this during the plenary session of the House, said caution should be taken by stakeholders involved till the issue of ownership of the institutions is resolved.

The Speaker urged the two visitors (governors of Osun and Oyo) to meet and visit the institution to make sure the ownership matter is quickly resolved.

He advised workers at the institutions and people of both Oyo and Osun states to remain calm as the assemblies and the governors will work out lasting solution to the crisis.

Mr. Owoeye maintained that the Assembly has constitutional power to legislate on the ownership issue, to review the laws and bills that established the institution.

It will be recalled that the recent ownership crisis rocking the LAUTECH University emanated from accusations and counter accusations from the Oyo and Osun governments on their financial obligations to the institution.

Meanwhile, the “Osun State College of Health Technology Establishment Bill 2019” has scaled through the first reading on the floor of House.

The bill sponsored by the Speaker, seeks to upgrade the School of Health Technology, Ilesha to a College status.
