Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has called on people who are fond of taking pictures of accident victims instead of rescuing them to desist or face the consequences.
NSCDC Commandant in Oyo state, Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya stated this at a workshop in commemorating this year’s International Civil Defence Organisation Day.
Alhaji Akinsanya said apart from the relevant stakeholders and security personnel, the public should also cultivate the habit of rescuing accident or natural disaster victims to reduce the death rate in the country.
Alhaji Akinsanya also solicited the genuine commitment of the officers and men of the corps whenever they find themselves in accident scenes by rendering necessary action.
Every First of March is set aside to commemorate the international civil defence organisation day.
