The Osun State House of Assembly has directed the House Committee on Environment, to inspect Obalende area in Ipetu-Ijesha area of Osun state on the issue of emissions from generators used by a telecommunication company in the area.

Raising the issue under matter of public importance, the Lawmaker representing Oriade state constituency, Mr. Desmond Ojo said the emissions has affected residents of the area while some have vacated their houses.

Mr. Ojo who noted that many residents have complained of health challenges due to the fumes, urged the House to take a drastic step to put an end to the health hazards being faced by the people.

The Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye while directing the House Committee on Health to visit the area, said the assembly would not sit and jeopardize the health of its citizens.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Procurement Law Amendment Bill 2020 has passed through the first reading on the floor of the House.
