The Ondo State Government has declared Friday 3rd July a work free day while flags are to fly at half mast for seven days to mourn the passage of the state Commissioner for Health , Dr Wahab Adegbenro.

A Statement from the commissioner for information , Donald Ojogo says the state is saddened by the commissioner’s sudden death.

The statement describes the late Commissioner as an embodiment of selflessness, hardwork and inexorable professionalism

Until his death, Adegbenro, a two-time health commissioner in the State, equally doubled as Chairman, Ondo State Inter-Ministerial Committee Against COVID-19.

He was at the forefront of the State’s battles against the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.

The goverment did not clarified what led to the commissioner’s death , Radio Nigeria however gathered that the he died while undergoing medical checkup at the Federal Medical Centre , FMC , Owo.

The state governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who is undergoing treatment having announced his covid 19 status has commiserated with the family of the deceased and the state describing him as a medical hero.#
