The pioneer Zone Seventeen Command’s Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Mr David Folawiyo says the zone will be a frontline participatory and mentoring zone for community policing with a difference in terms of security of lives and property.

Mr Folawiyo who stated this during a courtesy visit to the Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi in Ado-Ekiti, said he would go beyond supervisory role to prevent criminal activities in the zone which compromises Ondo and Ekiti States.

The AIG said his administration would partner governments, community leaders and ensure training of the security personnel to meet the current challenges of security as well as meet world-class standards.

He sought the cooperation of stakeholders in the zone to curb crimes and enthroned peace across the cities, towns and villages in Nigeria.

Mr Folawiyo stressed that the zone had zero tolerance to activities that could promote crisis in the society.

In his response, the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi noted that the new zone would further advance security network at the local levels.

Governor Fayemi charged the pioneer AIG of the Zone Seventeen to live up to expectations and promised the readiness of his administration to work with security outfits in order to make Nigeria great.
