Osun to Return to 6-3-3-4 Educational System

Osun State is to return to the 6-3-3-4 educational system as against the 4-5-3-4.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, mrs. Funke
Egbemode stated this in a chat with newsmen in Osogbo.

Mrs Egbemode, who explained that the reversal followed the
recommendations of the Education Review Committee’s white paper on the
restructuring and re-modification of some education policies of
government, announced that the implementation would commence from the new academic year.

She stated further that schools would be using their original uniforms
instead of the single uniform regime that had been in place to restore
a sense of identity in pupils and check the spate of indiscipline and
truancy in schools.

The commissioner also ordered that all single-gender schools that were
changed to mixed schools should return to the old order, while
original names of schools be restored.
