The Ekiti state government says the second term for the 2020/2021 academic session begins tomorrow, Monday and ends on the first of April.

A document from the ministry of Education indicates that the mid term is billed for Friday 26th of February while schools will vacate for two week holidays between 2nd of April and 18th of the same month.

According to the document, third term will start on Monday April 19 and run through Friday July 3 while the mid term holiday is scheduled for Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th of June.

It emphasizes that full academic work must commence in all schools on the first day of each term.

The statement directs school authorities to ensure full compliance with COVID-19 established protocols especially hand washing under running water and soap, maintenance of social distancing and compulsory wearing of face mask by students, pupils and teachers.

Going by the document, the second term has eleven weeks for academic work, two weeks for the end of term public holidays while the third term has fourteen weeks for academic activities and six weeks for public holidays after the term.
