Twenty-five pupils of De-Adriel School Elere, Apata Ibadan this morning embarked on an excursion tour to the Broadcasting House of Radio Nigeria, Dugbe Ibadan.

The pupils, who were excited for the exercise, were exposed to broadcast operations and other processes involved in the transmission of news and programmes to the general public.

Narrating their experiences to Radio Nigeria correspondent, some pupils of the school said they were not only exposed to various news and programmes broadcast gadgets such as microphone, audio console and studios but also to units of the station such as the library, newsroom, recording and live studio, translation and online.

In an interview, the proprietress of the school, Mrs Olufunke Durojaiye said the excursion was embarked upon to introduce the pupils to some of the carrier interest in journalism and activities taking place in the broadcast industry.

Mrs Durojaiye, who said the choice of Radio Nigeria was informed by the years of existence of the corporation and equipment at its disposal, stressed the need for schools administrator to always organise excursion so as to broaden the horizon of the students.

Mrs Durojaiye said Radio Nigeria should continue to uphold the leadership flagship of broadcasting in Nigeria through its professionalism.
