An eighteen year old senior secondary School student has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for allegedly attempting to kill her guardian, Mrs. Esther Bada through food poison.

The suspect, Tope Fasanya was arrested after the victim had reported the case to policemen.

The victim explained that the suspect who had been living with her since when she was in primary three after the demise of the suspect’s father allegedly put poison in the food she served.

The woman claimed that she felt a sharp stomach pain and became very uncomfortable after eating the food and instructed the suspect to eat the food but she refused.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident said the suspect said that a rat poison substance was added to the victim’s food to enable her to return to her mother.

Mr Oyeyemi said the victim was quickly taken to Owode Egba general hospital, from where she was referred to Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta for proper medical treatment.

The commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Bankole had directed that the suspect be arraigned in court as soon as investigation was concluded.
