A former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Azeem Gbolarumi has charged the Olubadan Designate,  High Chief Lekan Balogun to take sanitization of Ibadan traditional system as a top priority of his administration.

He made the call when he paid homage to the Alarere residence of the Olubadan-in-waiting.

Barrister Gbolarumi said it has been the expectation and prayers of many Ibadan elites that with the education and political experience of the Olubadan Designate,  he would help to sanitize and add dignity to the traditional chieftaincy system.

Barrister Gbolarumi who has been an Ibadan chief for over 17 years said multiple appointments and sometimes duplication of appointments to traditional positions are some of the issues that should be looked into.

Barrister Gbolarumi who is a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party emphasized that the problem of land grabbers which has now extended beyond expectations should also be addressed by the monarch as this has become a threat to a peaceful place that Ibadan is known for.

Barrister Gbolarumi thanked God for sparing the life of the Olubadan Designate and prayed for his longevity with good health in order to take Ibadan to greater heights.

Responding, the Olubadan Designate, High Chief Lekan Balogun appreciated the visit and promised to address the issues raised.

He described Barrister Gbolarumi as a true son of Ibadanland who always worked towars the development of the ancient city.
