The body of former Super Falcons of Nigeria and Sunshine Queens football club of Akure Goalkeeper late Elizabeth Johnson has been laid to rest in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Media officer of Sunshine Queens, Femi Atolagbe said the burial ceremony took place at the home of the husband of the player.

Relatives of the former Bayelsa Queens Goalkeeper, friends and teammates were at the burial ceremony.

General Manager Sunshine Queens, Mr Akin Akinbobola said the demise of Elizabeth Johnson had a psychological effect on the players and affected their performances at the just concluded Nigeria women’s football league because she was an inspiration to the young players.

Elizabeth Johnson, one of the longest serving Sunshine Queens player died few hours after training at the Ondo state sports complex after complaining of feverish condition and dizziness.
