Four people have died while six persons sustained varying degrees of injury in a fatal crash that occurred before Iperu Bridge on Lagos Ibadan expressway.

The accident, which occurred around 25 minutes past six in the morning, involved a Mazda bus marked YYY412XB and a truck with no registration number on it.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Public Education Officer in Ogun State Command, Mrs Florence Okpe confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta.

Mrs Okpe attributed the suspected causes of the crash to excessive speed and light sign violation.

She explained that the Mazda bus driver who was at high speed crashed into the moving truck from behind due to a slight defect in the truck.

Mrs Okpe said the injured victims had been taken to a private hospital in Ogere for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at Ipara Morgue.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command, Mr Ahmed Umar has advised motorists to fix the necessary requirement in a vehicle before embarking on any trip.

He sympathized with the family of the crash victims and advised them to contact FRSC Ogere for more information about the crash.
