Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has inaugurated the newly appointed Governor’s Local Government Liaison Officers, with a call on them not to compete with their local government chairmen, but complement their efforts to serve the people at the grassroots.
Speaking at the ceremony held at Oba’s Complex Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun urged the Liaison Officers to work closely with their council chairmen by championing the course of development in the local communities.
While urging them to brace up for the tasks ahead, Governor Abiodun stressed that their performance would be reviewed regularly.
He also appealed to them not to see their appointments as a means of corruptly enriching themselves from the public treasury, saying his administration would not hesitate to relieve those found wanting of their appointments.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Mr Semiu Lawal, thanked the Governor for the confidence and trust reposed in them, promising that they would work hard to deliver on their mandates.
