Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Oyo State Command has decorated one hundred and twenty three newly promoted officers of the corps. 

The ceremony, which had in attendance friends and family of the newly promoted officers, was held at NSCDC headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan.

While decorating and congratulating the promoted officers, NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State, Dr Micheal Adaralewa said the promotion was based on merit.

Dr Adaralewa told the promoted officers that their new offices came with higher responsibility, hence the need to be more dutiful and diligent. 

He urged them to recommit and rededicate themselves to the ideals and mandates of NSCDC whose major focus was to protect critical national infrastructure and to save lives.

“Never forget the importance of continuous learning and professional development. 

He urged them to strive harder to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities to enable them navigate the ever changing landscape of the  profession. 

“As you celebrate today,  be modest and magnanimous to all and ensure that wherever they are posted, be an epitome of hardwork, discipline, dedication,  selflessness, professionalism, excellence and humility in service delivery to the nation hence upholding the name NSCDC in high esteem”

The NSCDC boss called on those who were not promoted not to loose hope but rather work harder and remain committed to the corps.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers,  deputy Commandant of corps, Mr Isaac Alonge appreciated the Commandant General of NSCDC Hamed Audi for his efforts at ensuring that their work does not go in vain. 

Mr Alonge therefore, called on other newly promoted officers to see the promotion as new responsibilities on how to take the corps to higher. 

The promoted officers’ ranks were from Deputy Commandant of Corps to Assistant Superintendents of Corps 2.
