The children of the late sage, Chief Bola Ige have unveiled a twin-title book in memory of their parents in Ibadan.

The book entitled: ‘He Gave me Wings and She Gave me Roots’ was authored by the daughter, Mrs Funso Adegbola to elucidate the parenting strides of the late former governor of old Oyo State and his wife the first woman lawyer in the state and retired justice of the Court of Appeal, Late Atinuke Ige.

Reviewing the book, a renowned journalist and writer, Mr. Kunle Ajibade commended the story telling prowess of the author, saying it captured the life and times of the late parents as well as the grooming moments of the children laced with practical experiences.

Unveiling the book, a senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Niyi Akintola, who said he was hand-picked by the late former Minister of Power and Steel and his wife, Justice Atinuke for career and political mentorship, noted that their impacts on individuals and the country would never be forgotten.

On his part, Mayẹ Olubadan, Oloye Lekan Alabi applauded the efforts of the children at documenting the flagship traits of their parents to tackle the challenges of parenting in the twenty-first century.

Author of the book, Mrs Funso Adegbola, said her motivation for writing the book was driven by her relationships with her parents, which in turn influenced her level of accomplishment so far.

Panelists at the occasion stressed the need for career parents to befriend their children, live as role models and accommodate their opinions in the scheme of things so as to enhance their all round development.
