National Forum of Heads of Federal Establishments, NAFOHEADS has advised Federal establishments in the state to engage their vacant and undeveloped lands so as to prevent it from encroachment by private individuals and state government.

The forum lamented the increasing cases of takeover of lands allocated to federal establishments by private individuals and state government without recourse to its legal implications.

Speaking at NAFOHEADS meeting held at the conference room of the Federal Secretariat, Ikolaba, Ibadan, Chairman of the forum, Barrister Funmi Magaji enjoined heads of federal establishments in the state to tender documents of their allocated lands at the Federal Ministry of Lands and Housing proper safeguarding of their legitimate landed property.

“Most federal establishments in Oyo state, Ibadan in particular have been encroached, I will give my office’s example, everybody knows NIPOST that we are all over the place, we are everywhere, we have our properties spread all over the state because of the nature of our business, but most of these properties have been encroached by individuals and even state government.”

Barrister Magaji, however charged the members of NAFOHEADS to occupy their vacant lands with perimeter fencing, makeshift ventures, and farming to enhance its ownership.
