Osun State Ministry of Works has assured the State House of Assembly that all state roads in a deplorable condition would be renovated in due course.

The Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Ministry of Works, Mr. Bashiru Idowu stated this during a meeting with the State House of Assembly committee on Public Works and Transport.

Mr. Idowu represented by one of the Directors in the Ministry, Mr Maruf Ojebode explained that the ministry was working in synergy with Osun Road Maintenance Agency to fix dilapidated state roads.

Speaking on efforts of the Ministry on the terminating spot of Ikirun/ Inisha Road in Ifelodun Local Government, which had led to series of accidents recently, Mr. Ojebode noted that a memo has been written to the State Governor of the Minstry’s plan to extend the road to the boundary.

He assured that a palliative measure would be taken pending the final solution. 

In separate remarks, the Directors from departments under the Ministry took turns to explain their challenges and activities since the inception of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor of the state. 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman, Osun State House of Assembly, Committee on Public Works and Transport, Mr. Abiola Waheed called on the Ministry to cooperate with the 8th Assembly in achieving the 5-points agenda of the governor.

On the Ikirun /Inisha Road, Mr. Waheed directed the ministry to ensure that the planned palliative solution on the road was done on or before 16th September to prevent road accidents. 

Other legislators in the Committee on Public Works and Transport included Prince Adewunmi Adeyemi, Mr. Olalekan Adeoti, Mr. Abiola Awoyeye and Mr. Oladiran Olatunbosun.
