Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has established a special unit known as Agro-Ranger in Oyo State to protect farmers and their farms from attacks by cattle rustlers, kidnappers and other criminals.

The Commandant of the NSCDC, Oyo State Command, Dr. Michael Adaralewa made this known while addressing stakeholders at Saki City Town Hall, during a familiarisation tour of  Oke Ogun Area of Oyo State.

Dr. Adaralewa, who maintained that the Agro Ranger Unit would be mediating between farmers and herders in the area for conflict resolutions over grazing, disclosed that over five hundred trained men of the Corps’ would be providing the needed security for the farmers and their investments.

Dr. Adaralewa enjoined members of the public to keep supporting NSCDC in the State by giving useful and reliable information about criminal activities in their environment.

Speaking, some of the stakeholders commended the leadership of NSCDC in Oyo State for being proactive; saying its swift responses to distress calls had reduced crimes in the Zone.

Earlier, the State Commandant, NSCDC, Dr Michael Adaralewa paid a courtesy call on the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi and his Chiefs at his Palace while he also visited the Chairman, Saki West Local Government, Mr. Sarafadeen Omirinde in his Office.
