The Wife of Osun State Governor, Yeye Titilola Adeleke has warned against female genital mutilation just as she advised parents to take proper care of their children in the interest of their future.
Yeye Adeleke gave the warning while presenting cash and other gifts to the Osun first baby of the year.
The baby girl weighing 3.2kg was born at the State Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo at exactly one minute past twelve in the morning.
Presenting the cash and gifts items comprising baby things and a bag of rice to the parents of the baby, Mr. and Mrs. Adewumi, the Osun Governor’s wife urged the mother to embrace exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months before introducing the baby to other foods for healthy growth and sharp brain.
Yeye Adeleke who named the year 2024 first baby, Bodunrin, thanked God for the safe delivery of the baby girl and prayed for divine protection and provision for the parents of the baby to enable them cater for their child.
Responding, the father of the baby, Mr. Adewale Adewumi, appreciated the State Government humanitarian gesture and the Governor’s Wife and prayed to God to grant the present Administration a resounding success in office.
