Oyo Vigilante Group Vows to Flush Out Kidnappers

Members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN in the Ibarapa zone of Oyo State, who reportedly recovered the sum of ten million naira ransom in a gun duel with a gang of suspected fleeing kidnappers have vowed to flush them out of the forests.

They made the vow following the discovery of the lifeless body of the victim allegedly abducted from Lanlate last weekend.

It was gathered that the victim’s family informed the Vigilantes about the ransom demanded by the criminals but failed to wait for strategies mapped out to apprehend them during payment.

A member of the Vigilante Group who did not want his name mentioned shed some light on the money recovered.

While police reaction is still being awaited, Commander, VGN Oyo state Command, Comrade Sunday Olajide confirmed the incident, urging residents, especially in rural communities to beware of strange movements and people in their areas.
