Quite a lot of ladies love makeup cannot do without it before stepping out for the day.

This is understandable. However, there is need for caution as using makeup every day can harm the skin in many ways.

Some of these skin-unfriendly components used in everyday makeup products can even cause irritation, itchiness and sometimes even untimely ageing.

How? Many daily makeup products contain harsh chemicals that can disrupt functions of the protective barrier of the skin, making it easier for pathogens to enter the skin. Using makeup regularly can cause various side effects, impacting the health and natural glow of the skin.

However, this does not mean that ladies cannot use makeup at all if they follow a few healthy makeup habits and choose skin-friendly products.

Side Effects of Wearing Makeup Regularly

If you are experiencing one or more of the side effects listed below, it is time to do something about it.

1. Clogged Pores

If you are applying makeup on a regular basis and leaving it on your skin for a long time, there are chances that your skin pores get clogged. This does not let your skin breathe, making it prone to acne, bumps and other facial skin problems. You may notice bumps around your eyes as well.

2. Untimely Aging

One of the important things that you do to maintain your skin’s health is protecting it from sun damage. When you forget to apply sunscreen before applying makeup, you expose your skin to sun damage. Leaving makeup on for a longer period along with sun damage can result in premature ageing signs like wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. Also, when you don’t remove your makeup before you sleep, it can get into your pores and cause wrinkles.

3. Dry or Oily Skin

Makeup products that do not suit your skin type can make your skin drier or oilier. People with dry skin may experience extreme dryness if they use makeup that’s not meant for their skin type. Similarly, those with oily skin may experience too much of oil production than usual after using the wrong products.

4. Breakouts

Breakouts may occur due to hormonal imbalance, certain medications, improper diet etc. But regular usage of makeup can add to your woes and trigger more frequent breakouts. Skin experts agree that those with acne-prone skin should limit their makeup usage. Applying less makeup can improve your skin’s health and reduce blackheads too.

Summer time, sunny hours!

During our summer, the Northern Hemisphere leans toward the sun in its revolution, there are more daylight hours, and the sun’s angle is more perpendicular to us than at other times of the year.

The longer days and more concentrated sunlight, result in more heating.

Sunglasses surely come in handy on sunny days, not just to shield the eyes but also to add to your kinky looks ain’t it about being peculiar? What about using the sunglasses trends to update your look in a jiffy?

And there are plenty of trend-worthy styles to choose from, the latest sunglasses trends will complement your face and outfits all year round, so you can shield your eyes fashionably.

The sunglasses come in many different shapes, but closely resemble the round eyes of the monochromatic panda bears.

                                 Panda Specs

Some of the pandas have been accessorized with hats and neckties — two can even be seen sipping their favorite beverages.

Getting to grips with the latest sunglasses that trend is the speediest way to this season’s best sunglasses. In the same vein as eyeglasses trends, the latest trends are derived from designer brands and the runway, framing what’s available on the market and covering everything from sunglasses shape to colour.

You will notice a synergy between the latest sunglasses trends for this season fashion trends with similar style eras referenced and the latest fashion color trends all present. As always the sunglasses trends are a mix of standout pieces and a reinforcement of staple silhouettes that are totally timeless.

Spicy and Trendy has this advice when it comes to picking your next pair

“For people with round faces, it is generally good to go for bold angular lines. Sunglasses with angular frames will sharpen softer facial features. Clean lines and angles will help to give the appearance of a longer, thinner face while a darker frame can enhance angular features.

                Round faces

People with square faces already have angular facial lines so to soften this effect, look for curved round glasses with thinner frames – oval or rounder frames that are wider near the hinges are a good choice.

                        Oval faces

With oval faces, they are quite versatile so they could go for any frame shape. Personally, I prefer large and bold frames for oval-faced people. Heart-faced people have a wider forehead and angled chin, so to balance this choose a frame which is wider than your forehead so rounded or oval frames would be a good idea.”

                        Spicy and Trendy

Once you’ve identified the best designer sunglasses shape for your face, it’s time for the fun to begin! With our guide to the sunglasses trends 2023, you’ll be looking stylish in no time.

Spec Vibes

If you’re looking for a quick way to update your spring capsule wardrobe, a pair of fun frames will immediately bring your look up to date. Spanish clothing brand inflated frames were one of the five New York Fashion Week street style trends and look set to stay a must-have. Pardon the fashion quote, but while florals for spring might not be ‘groundbreaking’, Swarovski’s playful take on the motif in sunglasses form is another nod to the trend. If you’re after sunglasses that are a little more subtle, look for other statement frames such as gem-encrusted starlet-inspired styles for a touch of Hollywood glamour.

Sleek & Sporty Spectacles

With athleisure and activewear now firm favorites in our wardrobes, it was only a matter of time before our collective love of sporty styles was reflected in the sunglasses trends literally. Spicy and Trendy style sunglasses featuring mirrored lenses are enjoying a resurgence. While you might be unsure of this style if you wore it the first time around, the wraparound styles are actually some of the most protective for your eyes as the extended lens blocks out light and harmful rays at the sides of your face too. When trying on styles, it’s important to opt for a size that fits snugly without squeezing your face at the temples – many sports brands will offer different width frames in this silhouette for the perfect fit.

Mono-Lens Specs

If you’re a fan of supersized sunnies, then the mono-lens sunglasses trend is one for you. Seen on celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, this supersized style borrows from the ultimate in cover-all-don’t-look-at-me-please-look-at-me sunglasses. But these single-lens styles are not just for the slopes. Look for pairs with mirrored or logo lenses for added fashion points or why not go one step further and try Dior’s visor style?

Tinted Lensed Specs

Want to make the world seem a happier place with the help of a pair of sunglasses? Then rose (and other colors) tinted lenses are for you. This trend fits right in with the Nineties style revival – if you’re wondering how to style wide-leg jeans, why not try finishing your outfit with a pair of tinted lenses? Nineties style icon Jennifer Aniston has been making a case for orange-tinted lenses but other popular hues include yellow, red, and blue. Just like with frames, it is worth considering what color suits your complexion before you invest in this sunglasses trend.

Spicy and Trendy offers this advice when choosing tinted lenses: “The key with tinted lenses is to make sure they are not too light and have more of a chic darker tint. For summer, I’m loving the warm tan tinted lenses Gigi known as Spectacle.”

Bright Framed Specs

If you think the trend for mood-boosting brights applies only to bright-colored clothes, think again. Hamish says: “After years of keeping it low-key, this is the summer for us to start getting expressive again with our eyewear!”

A quick way to perk up even the simplest outfit is with a pair of bright sunnies. Spicy and Trendy, the Head of Frames Development is excited about this brighter look: “Dopamine brights are dominating the runway and are the perfect way to add a cool pop of color to any outfit. These are my favorite trend of the year as they combine bold colors with simple designs.”

The key is to keep this look simple, so look for flattering, classic frame shapes such as rounded rectangular or cat eye styles. When it comes to selecting the best colors for your complexion, Spicy and Trendy has this advice: In terms of skin tone, if you have got a warm complexion then warmer tones like orange and red would go quite well and if you have got a cooler complexion go for blue, pink or green colored frames.

If you’re looking for a timeless way to add bold bright sunglasses to your look, why not consider a pair in bright white? “Although an advocate of bright colors, white should never be overlooked and it’s a trend that sees a comeback each summer.”

Oversized/Seventies Sunglasses

With the seventies trend returning for summer, it’s time to nail how to style flared jeans, and clogs – and don’t forget a pair of oversized sunglasses!

While in recent seasons sunglasses trends have veered towards Matrix-style tiny sunglasses, if you like to hide behind your frames, it’s time to breathe a sigh of relief and embrace oversized sunglasses once more. Seventies-inspired round and aviator shapes are key to this trend, with the latter working well with every face shape. If you’re looking for a lighter option, swap acetate frames for lightweight metallics in silver or gold.

Cat Eye Sunglasses

Cat eye sunglasses never fail to look glam and polished – and they’re perfect for oval face shapes as the upwards slant enhances the cheekbones and draws the eye upwards.

They’re equipped with UV400 protection and anti-glare lenses for comfortable use.

Cycling sunglasses unisex

Heart-shaped Spectacles

Who could resist a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses like these?

The outlined frame looks really unique, while the width of these sunglasses will balance out the slightly longer proportions of oval face shapes.

Butterfly Rimless Visor Sunglasses

Butterfly Sunglasses Luxury Diamond Size Lens Rimless Oversized Eyewear. With a rimless visor frame, they also come in pink for a more rose-tinted outlook.

Extra for Male Folks Spectacles

Let’s face it, men’s sunglasses are an absolute essential in summer. No outfit is complete without them, and let’s not forget, a decent pair of shades will protect your eyes from UV rays, which in turn will protect you from serious conditions such as photokeratitis and cataracts.

Plus, in summer with so much of our socializing now outside, there’s never been a more important time to invest. So, to save yourself from squinting your way through your engagements in the next few months, add a pair to the basket ASAP.

The question then isn’t whether you need new shades, it’s which sunglasses are best for you. How can you tell what suits you when you’re shopping online? Should you be dropping a wad of cash on designer pairs or will a high-street alternative do the job?

In short, you can make a judgment call based on the shape of your face. If you’ve got a rounded face, go for something angular. Shorter, square shapes can get away with wearing on-trend small shades, whereas longer faces should stick to bigger lenses that offer more eyebrow coverage. If you’ve got a heart shape or oval face, you’re sorted. Pretty much anything goes.

Sunglasses-Mens World

Men can choose from a variety of sunglasses, each with a unique style and function. Men’s sunglasses come in the following prominent categories:

Rectangular Sunglasses

They have rectangular frames, which go nicely with face characteristics that are angular. They look good on both men and women and give any ensemble an air of refinement and elegance.

Do I care for my Specs? Yeah

Tips to maintain and take care of the product?

After completing a time-consuming survey and in-depth research on a product, we exert more effort to purchase it. Some advice and techniques for enhancing the shelf-life of the sunglasses.

Storage: Place your sunglasses in a safe case when not in use. This will lessen the likelihood of scuffs, drops, and exposure to dirt or debris.

Handling: Use clean hands when handling your sunglasses to prevent getting any oils, lotions, or other substances on the lenses.

Avoid Excessive Heat: Extreme heat might deform the frame or harm the lenses.  The lens coatings, adhesives, and general structural integrity can all be affected by excessive heat.

Avoid Chemical Contact: Keep your sunglasses away from harsh chemicals, including solvents, hairspray, perfume, and household cleaners.

Cleaning: Use a lens cleaning solution made especially for eyewear or a microfiber cleaning cloth to clean your lenses.

The National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, says they cannot ban the controversial film “Gangs of Lagos” since its release on streaming service, Amazon Prime Video.

Chief Executive Officer of the regulatory body, Adedayo Thomas, said his board has no legal backing to regulate what is viewed on streaming platforms.

Thomas was reacting to calls on to ban the movie for associating the Eyo Masquerade with gangsterism.

Executive Director however said, there was a bill before the National Assembly seeking to empower the Board to regulate online platforms and any other platforms where movies are viewed.

Lagos State Government had on Thursday accused the gangsters of Lagos promoters of making a mockery of the state’s heritage.

Nollywood Actor Damola Olatunji drops powerful quotes online about seeing things from different angles and realities.

Olatunji revealed that life’s totality could be viewed through windows rather than through a mirror, which can only reveal you.

The actor also admonishes everyone to never hesitate to open new windows in their lives and stop looking at the walls.

He wrote: A short story …
What you see when you look out of the window is life in totality

Never hesitate to open new windows in your life, because when life closes a door, God opens a window. So stop looking at the walls, look out the window.

Note that it is healthier to look out at the world through a window than through a mirror. Otherwise, all you see is yourself and whatever is behind you.

Damola Olatunji had equally reacted to a report that circulated about his new marriage when he shared a photo of a married couple on his Instagram page.

The shared photo ignited the rumours that he had found love again because the wife reportedly looks like him.

While clarifying that he wasn’t the man in the photo, Damola Olatunji subtly threw shades to his haters.

“Those who stand for nothing fall for everything. Be wise,” he captioned the photo on Instagram.

Bukola Awoyemi “Arugba” Shades Damola Olatunji

Bukola Arugba had also shaded her husband, Damola Olatunji, in her tribute to veteran actor Olu Jacobs on his 80th birthday celebration.

Bukola Arugba’s post was in the wake of Damola Olatunji’s clarification on his new wife, which got many confused on social media.

Her husband was alleged to be engaged in constant sex for roles involving young and upcoming actresses.

Damola Olatunji’s sex for roles scandal was allegedly not new to his wife.

They were having issues in their marriage, and some family members had also tried to intervene.

The couple also fueled their breakup rumours when they unfollowed each other on their social media pages.

‘I don’t know why actresses are doing better than us their male counterparts’ – Kunle Remi laments

It would be recalled that Kunle Remi spoke up on why actresses do better than their male colleagues.

Appearing on the ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast, he mentioned that there are sometimes he drives to a movie location and his female colleagues will pull up in more expensive cars.

According to the Anikulapo star actor, this is surprising because he knows how much he is paid for the movie and also has an idea of how much actresses are paid for the same movie.

Kunle Remi mentioned that actresses are fond of saying they have multiple streams of income when asked how they drive expensive cars.

The actor mentioned that this appearance can negatively affect actresses who are new to the industry as they would expect a lot and will end up being disappointed when they see that the industry is not how it looks.

“How come the girls seem to be doing better than the men? That is a very valid question.

“I get to set, I probably drive my normal moderate car then you see your co-actress pull up. Not just pull up o, PULL UP.

“You start looking at it like, I’m a leader, right?

“I probably know the budget for the whole film we are doing.

“I know how much I was paid; I have an idea of how much you were paid.

“I’m sweating here and you pull up in a nice car.

“People around see it as though what are you doing differently? What are they doing differently?

“Ladies will tell you; ‘I’m selling hair. I’m doing this. I have multiple streams of income.

“Some people, they have it by mouth, we don’t know exactly what the conversation is.”

Kunle Remi continued: “Now, the next person coming after you; what are they expecting to get when they get to where you are?

“They expect, this girl is driving this kind of car, which means the industry is booming.

“They come into this thing, give their all, give their best and they are not seeing what you are saying they are doing,” Kunle Remi said.

Combine Spaghetti and Mixed Vegetables

Hungry? Lazy? Same here. Check your cupboards and freezer, and you’ll find out that you likely already have everything you need to make a delicious meal of spaghetti with vegetables … in just 20 minutes! No one will have any idea that this dish is so quick and simple to make, and just as tasty. We won’t tell if you don’t.

The more colourful and varied your vegetable medley, the more impressive this pasta dish will look, so try a mixture with nicer veggies like broccoli or red bell peppers, for example. For a vegetarian version, just substitute the Parmesan cheese for a vegetarian alternative.
