Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN, Oyo State has inaugurated its new executive members.

The institute at its annual investiture and award presentation held in Ibadan inaugurated Mr Oladeji Akinola as the chairman and eight others as executive members who are to steer the affairs of the institute for another year.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Akinola promised to consolidate the achievements of the past administrations as well as to begin the process of constructing a permanent secretariat for Oyo State CIIN.

Mr Akinola said the new executive would prioritize the training of members and insurance students for them to be more professional and certified.

In an address, an insurance broker and patron of the institute, Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja appealed to insurance managers to go by the dictates of the policy and adequately pay claims to their clients who suffer any loss.

Chief Agbeja cautioned insurance brokers against dishonesty and lack of trust but urged them to keep to the promises agreed with the clients.

Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion, former deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, represented by Chief Alani Olojede, highlighted the need for Nigerians to imbibe the culture of taking out insurance policies.

The highlight of the event which was well attended by insurance professionals across Oyo State was the presentation of awards to the institutes’ outstanding members and members of the society who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers.

Immediate past chairman, Chartered Insurance Institute Of Nigeria, CIIN, Oyo State Chapter, Mr Wale Oladebo made the assertion when the Executives of the Institute paid a courtesy visit to the management of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station.

Mr Oladebo explained that the visit was to congratulate the Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph on her appointment and her birthday.

Mr Oladepo also spoke of the institute’s investiture holding in Ibadan on Thursday , 17TH March 2022, adding that the institute wanted to avail itself of the broad reach of Radio Nigeria of Ibadan to create public awareness about insurance benefits.

In a remark, the Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph affirmed that the wide coverage which Radio Nigeria Ibadan has across the entire southwest would aid the institute in actualizing its mission and vision.

Mrs Joseph added that more Nigerians, especially the masses at the grassroots needed to know the essence of the insurance policy.

Other members of the Chartered Insurance delegation were its new chairman, Deacon Akinola Oladeji, the Deputy Chairman, Osigwe Braimah and the Public Relations Officer, Otunba Toyin Okuwobi.
